Erzsébet Strassenreiter’s legacy and historical background (1933-2025)

Abstract

A unique donation was received at the Wesley János Theological College: Erzsébet Strassenreiter bequeathed the documents and books found in her apartment to the college library. The renowned historian, who mainly dealt with the history of the Social Democratic Party in Hungary, died in 2025 and spent more than 40 years at one workplace, the former Institute of Party History (from 1990 the Institute of Political History). She left the best of her decades of research and collecting work to the Wesley János Theological College, which has been reviewed and listed box by box.
